Behind the Print — From Raw Shot to Finished Artwork
Robert Werda
Every print in the Raw OZ Images gallery begins the same way — with a moment. A fleeting light, a still morning, a landscape that demands to be captured. But the journey from that raw photograph to a finished, limited-edition fine art print on your wall is where the real craft happens.
The Shot
Each image starts in the field — often before dawn, often in remote or challenging conditions. The goal is always to capture something authentic; the kind of light and atmosphere that can't be manufactured in post-production. These aren't stock images. They're moments.
The Edit
Back in the studio, the raw file is carefully processed — colour graded, refined, and prepared for print. Every decision is made with the final printed piece in mind, not a screen. Print and screen are very different mediums, and what looks good on a monitor doesn't always translate to paper or canvas. I keep the editing simple to give the RAW image as the camera captures the RAW Image , just sharpened for the Printing Process
Before any print goes to production, we create a finished product mockup — a true-to-life visualisation of how the artwork will look in a real space. This step is important to us because we want you to see exactly what you're getting. No surprises. Just beautiful art, exactly as imagined.
The Print
All Raw OZ Images prints are produced right here in Australia, using premium substrates and archival inks. Whether you choose a fine art paper print, canvas, or metal, every piece is made to last — and made to impress.
Limited Editions
Each image is released as a limited edition. Once an edition sells out, it's gone. This isn't a marketing tactic — it's a commitment to the value and exclusivity of every piece in our collectors' hands.
